How much are late payments costing you?
Enter your yearly revenue, how many invoices are paid late and how long you spend chasing them, and see what late payments cost your business a year in tied-up cash, your time and invoices that never get paid.
How it's calculated
Late revenue is your revenue × the share paid late. The money tied up is late revenue × average days late ÷ 365, and it costs you your borrowing rate a year. Your time is hours a week × 52 × what your hour is worth. Bad debt is late revenue × the share never paid.
Questions
How do late payments affect a small business?
They tie up cash you've already earned, so you pay for it with credit cards or a credit line, spend hours chasing it, and lose some of it for good. Late payments are one of the most common cash-flow problems small businesses report.
How do I get clients to pay on time?
Clear terms with a due date on every invoice, an easy way to pay (card and bank transfer), a reminder before the due date and steady follow-ups after it. Most invoices are paid after one or two reminders.
What does Casey cost compared with chasing invoices myself?
Casey is free when clients pay on time and $5 for each invoice it has to chase, however many follow-ups it takes. The calculator shows what that would be for your late invoices.
